Annual Soccer Tournament

Posted on 5 October 2022 in Events

Last weekend the grade 7s and 8s, and some grade 6s, were able to take part in the annual soccer tournament in Smithville. We are so thankful that students are once again able to participate in events such as this!

Both teams played their hardest and did their best! The girls team won 1 game and lost 2, coming in 7th out of 10 teams. The boys team won 2 games and tied 1, and then lost in the semis against Bellstone, finishing 4th out of 10 teams. Well done students!

Thank you to the coaches, Coach Grant, Cheyan, Mrs. Janssen and Mrs. deJonge. And thank you to all the families who came out to cheer our teams on!

Grade 8 Grad Trip Fundraiser

Posted on 24 September 2022 in Events, Fundraisers

The grade 8s at DACS are having a bottle drive to raise money for their year end trip!

Our bottle drive day is Saturday October 15. If you have empties to donate, you can bring them to Derek and Lea’s house prior to October 15, you can drop them off at the school on the morning of October 15 or return them yourself and pass the money onto a grade 8 student or to Jaclyn Jonker!

We can also pick up any empties you may have. Please contact Brenda VanWoudenberg to arrange pick up!

Thank you in advance for your support!

Mark your calendars…

Picture day is scheduled for September 27!

Kayla Geurts from KHK Photography will once again be coming to take pictures. A few notes from her:

• Photos will be outside weather permitting.
• Try to avoid slogans, logos and big patterns on picture day.
• She will take a head and shoulder pose and a waist and up shot so plan the whole outfit.
• Make sure you tell your kids (especially the girls) how you want their hair for photos.
• Try practicing all those beautiful smiles the night before.

Once the pictures are ready Kayla will load them onto a password-protected page on her website. She will send home an order form with instructions for how to access the photos and how to place your order.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact Kayla.

Ephesians 6

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
