Grandparents and Friends Day!

Posted on 16 April 2026 in Events

We are excited to welcome Grandparents and Special Ones of our DACS students on Thursday, April 23rd for Grandparents Day!

Coffee, tea and baking will be served over recess, from 10:30-11:00am. Classroom visits will follow from 11:00-12:15pm, with a delicious soup lunch served to top it all off! A friendly reminder our school is scent-free, and we ask that grandparents do not bring treats for the students.

We look forward to sharing this beautiful day with you!

“A Dangerous Journey” musical!

Posted on 26 March 2026 in Events

Students, volunteers and staff have been working incredibly hard for “A Dangerous Journey” musical!

You have two opportunities to view this wonderful musical:

Next week Wednesday is our dress rehearsal, beginning at 1:30 p.m. You do not need to reserve tickets for the dress rehearsal.

On Friday April 10th at 7:30 p.m. we will have our big performance. Tickets can be reserved by going to the following link: www.dacslaurel.ca/musical.

We will be accepting donations to help cover the cost of the play (cash, cheque, or e-transfer: dacsfinance@gmail.com (earmarked school musical)). There will be additional parking at the church beside the school.

Come join us for this wonderful performance, as we are reminded of what Christ has done for all of us. His death on the cross has paved the way for a heavenly city that is prepared for us!

The Great Reading Duck Derby

Posted on 13 February 2026 in Events

During the weeks of Monday, February 16 – Friday, February 27 we are encouraging our students to exercise their minds and join the “Great Reading Duck Derby!”

The purpose of this themed school-wide activity is to promote literacy as a life-long daily habit. The students will be reading to accumulate points to contribute to their class’s overall score in the competition. More details will be sent home with students.

Here are some special days to remember:

  • Tuesday, February 24 – PJ/Comfy Cozy Day and bring your favourite book to school to share with your class.
  • Thursday, February 26 – “Animal Dress Up Day” – dress up as a duck or like one of the animals in your favourite book.
  • Friday, February 27 – Duck Olympics – students will spend the afternoon outside competing in the Duck Olympic games and enjoying some sweet treats!

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…
