First Day of School 21/22!

Posted on 7 September 2021 in Events, News

Welcome to our new school year!

We are very excited to be back, and our prayer is that we will be able to stay in school this year. You may have noticed the theme text for this year. We will be focusing on what these words of the apostle Paul mean for our tasks at school and elsewhere in all sorts of circumstances.

Our rooms and hallways have been polished and decorated. They are awaiting the students.

We invite you to come to our opening assembly today at 9:00am in the gym. Be mindful of the regular COVID precautions.

May the Lord bless our school year!

Distance Education to Commence April 22nd

Posted on 14 April 2021 in News

Here is a quick update with more to come next week.

This past Monday Premier Doug Ford announced the closure of schools for in-person learning after the Spring Break (announcement is available at the link here: Ontario Moves Schools to Remote Learning Following Spring Break.)

This closure includes private school and as such DACS will also be transitioning to remote learning next week.  For students, Spring Break will effectively be extended 3 days with remote learning commencing Thursday, April 22nd.  This 3-day turnaround to start next week will allow staff to prepare packages and organize any necessary pick-ups.  Staff will follow up next week with the details.

While returning to remote learning is not the news we were looking for, it is the path that the Lord has put before us and so we humbly, through prayer and petition, work through all that He has set before us.   We can be thankful for the additional days we could have had last week, and as Board we pray that all students, parents, volunteers, employees and staff alike can have a refreshing and blessed break.

Psalm 24:1,2

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
