The Great Reading Duck Derby

During the weeks of Monday, February 16 – Friday, February 27 we are encouraging our students to exercise their minds and join the “Great Reading Duck Derby!”
The purpose of this themed school-wide activity is to promote literacy as a life-long daily habit. The students will be reading to accumulate points to contribute to their class’s overall score in the competition. More details will be sent home with students.
Here are some special days to remember:
- Tuesday, February 24 – PJ/Comfy Cozy Day and bring your favourite book to school to share with your class.
- Thursday, February 26 – “Animal Dress Up Day” – dress up as a duck or like one of the animals in your favourite book.
- Friday, February 27 – Duck Olympics – students will spend the afternoon outside competing in the Duck Olympic games and enjoying some sweet treats!
