What's Happening @ DACS?

NEW DATE DUE TO SNOW DAY: This Friday, December 16th will be Sports Dress-Up Day at DACS!

Pick a sport and dress like someone who plays it!

Also, don’t forget about Comfy Cozy Day – happening on December 23rd!

Last week the Grade 7 and 8 were able to take part in the annual Volleyball Tournament.

The day was a fun experience for all and each team was able to show a huge improvement in their skill over the season, saving their best performances for Friday. The Grade 7 team was able to win a game, the Grade 8 Boys won 2 of their 4 games, and the girls took home the trophy, by winning 3 games in the round robin as well as the final game.

The day was not without injury and we are thankful that Jack’s arm is healing in a cast and that his injury was not worse!

Special thanks to our helpers/coaches; Mrs VanSydenborgh, Mrs. Niezen, Miss VanLeeuwen, Mrs. Kamphuis, and Mrs. Bouwers.

The Grade 5/6 students have been working hard on their Remembrance Day
Presentation.

They would love to share this with you at the assembly, scheduled for Friday, November 11th at 9am. They will be heading to the Grand Valley cenotaph after the assembly, and you are welcome to attend there as well.

Is your child reluctant or refusing to go to school? Long-term absences often have academic and social repercussions for the students involved.

Come out and join us in the gym of DACS on
Monday, October 31st from 1pm – 3pm.

We will welcome Sabrina Jaspers, a counsellor who works with Christian Counselling Centre in Hamilton, ON, for a presentation focussing on the topic of “School Refusal/Avoidance/Reluctance.”

We hope to learn about and discuss causes and signals of this kind of anxiety, as well as strategies to resolve this.
