Easter Concert

Posted on 31 March 2022 in Events, Fundraisers

The students have been working hard and are excited to share their Easter Program!

Please join us on Thursday, April 14th at 7:30pm in the school gymnasium for this wonderful evening of praise.

The PTA would like to invite any pre-school aged children to learn Hymn 56:1 (Loving Shepherd) to sing before the concert.

The Grade 8 class will be offering baked goods as a fundraiser for their year end trip. Bring some cash to help fund this cause and head home with some baked goods!

Volunteers Needed! We would like to be able to provide babysitting during the concert, and for this we will need volunteers. It is an opportunity for high school students to add some time to their community hours program. Please let us know if you can help: office@dacslaurel.ca.

“Treasure Island” Literacy Week

Posted on 28 February 2022 in Events

During the weeks of Monday, February 28 to Friday, March 11th we are encouraging our students to exercise their minds and “READ FOR THE TREASURE!” The purpose of this themed school-wide activity is to continue to promote literacy as a life-long daily habit.

The students will be reading to accumulate points to win their own individual prize as well as to contribute towards their class’ overall score in the “Treasure Island” competition. They will accumulate points for the time they spend reading.

You child will bring home all the details for this competition so keep your eyes peeled.

Friday, March 4th is Comfy Cozy Reading Day – the students can come to school in comfy cozy clothes/pajamas and can bring a stuffy or blanket (as long as it fits in their backpack.)

Friday, March 11 we will wrap up our literacy week with a Pirate Dress-Up Day! Start polishing your wooden legs and mending that eye patch!

Friday Fun Day!

Friday, February 11th is Snow Fest and Donut Day!

The Student Council has been hard at work planning our fun day! We’ll have donuts at snack time to start the morning off well. Then, we will spend the afternoon in fun activities, both indoors and out – so please make sure you are dressed for the weather! An extra pair of mittens might be a good idea.

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…
